You can’t shoot something and then complain about the debris it left.

The quotes in this article are magnificent. I think

You can if it was flying over your property and shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

This gets my day off to a great start! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I just realized, I’ve been through there a ton of times, and had no idea Robert Duvall lived there. Cool!

The more I read it, the more I wish she was the one running for president right now.

If someone was flying a drone with a camera over my property I'd be tempted to do the same. At the very least they're loud and annoying.

If I lived in an area with a sizable property I sure as hell would have done the same, however I live in a neighborhood so discharging a firearm is a bad idea.
That drone must have been flying super low if she could hit it with a spread from a .410 shotgun.

Even though the article was updated to say that she used a 20-gauge, you underestimate rural Virginia country folk...

I’m impressed with the way this article was written. As soon as I saw that the woman was from rural Virginia, I braved myself for the inevitable “oh boy, Florida man has some competition!” comments, but rather than portraying her as a southern redneck with enough guns to make the military blush (how most of us come across to people who “ain’t from’round here”), they just stuck to the facts of the story.
Well done ARS Technica!

The effective spread of a 20 gauge is around 40 yards (I’m assuming she was using birdshot and not buck) so still pretty damn close considering.
